Prior to September 26, 2010, Sylvia was a happy, beautiful and bubbly 2-year old. The last week of September Sylvia woke up with yellow eyes and skin. At the ER we quickly found out that her condition was quite serious. The words from the doctor still make us shudder and shot a hole right into our hearts, “Sylvia is in liver failure."

Sylvia has been diagnosed with an auto immune disease that has attacked her liver. She now has chronic liver disease and will need at least one liver transplant in her lifetime. Sylvia will also need to see an Immunologist because she tested positive for Anti-Mitochodrial Antibody (AMA) and Anti-Liver Kidney Microsomal Antibody (Anti-LKM). This is rare in children and they have seen only two other AMA cases at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

We are calling on all of our supporters to continue your prayers for our little girl because we may be here for a while. Sylvia is not currently on the transplant list; however, at some point in her life she will need a transplant. Because of this challenging situation, our family has created the Trust Fund for Sylvia Heiby to help with her medical expenses.

If you'd like to join many friends and family members who have asked how they may help you may donate to this trust via PayPal at this link. Please consider giving a donation in lieu of toys or flowers.

We appreciate your support, love and prayers so much and we feel the power of prayer and its holy comfort. We come to you and thank you very much for your generosity of time and money.

With love and God Bless!
